Advice from a Spirit: Eloise Butler

Eloise Butler was a botanist who died in August of 1851.

I met her spirit while visiting the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary

This is an account of a conversation I had with Eloise. In showing my respect to Eloise, I have posted this conversation as she described it to me, though historical data may vary.

One afternoon, Eloise Butler grabbed my attention and would not let go. She was a woman of conviction, heart, and great strength. She showed me what can be accomplished through dedicated love for your craft and perseverance.

In the Spring of 2015, my partner and I ventured to Minneapolis, Minnesota. It’s the family hometown and was the setting for his brother’s big birthday bash. I absolutely look forward to our visits to the MPLS. His grand family is so loving and filled with creative, entrepreneurial spirits who know how to get outside and play with nature.

One afternoon, after having a delicious lunch, we decided to go on a nature walk through a park in the center of town. I walked through the beautifully gated entrance and sat on a particular bench that had caught my attention. The family meandered, reading the placards about the flora and fauna native to the area. I continued sitting on my bench as I had started to feel sick to my stomach and a little dizzy. I knew these were signs that an energy being was trying to communicate with me. I decided to do a quick meditation from my bench. I closed my eyes and went within, grounding myself, clearing the energy in my aura, and intentionally activating my clairvoyant skills. In this manner, I was able to heal my sick and dizzy feelings and see that it was a female being wanting to communicate.

I met up with my partner and explained the experiences I was managing. Through his smile he informed me that the park we were in was named after a woman who also had her ashes scattered there when she passed. Bam! I had my being. It was Eloise Butler, the woman for whom this Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary was named.

Normally, after the initial communication with a beings, they tell me their stories and what they need from me and then continue along their paths. In this instance, Eloise’s strength persevered as I walked the garden for over an hour.

For Eloise, her work always came first. She had a great intuition for working with plants and their usefulness in their environment and for people. As I walked through the park with her, she never left my side, showing me her dedication to her craft as a botanist and teacher. I could hear her constantly trying to divert my attention to the next plant and wanting to diagnose its usefulness to me.

As the time at my park drew to an end, I asked Eloise what message she would like to leave with me. She told me to stick with the work that you love, endure the hardships and moments when you trip over your own self, and just keep going. Don't worry about failing or wanting to give up. The only option is to continue to learn and hone your skills and share your craft. What is expressed is created from love, and that is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and others.

Eloise, I think of your message often. I thank you for spending time with me.
