Advice from a Spirit: Emmanuel Swedenborg
Emmanuel Swedenborg was a Swedish scientist born in January 1688 and died March 1772.
I met his spirit while visiting the Salem Athenaeum in Salem, Massachusetts.
This is an account of a conversation I had with Emmanuel. In showing my respect to Emmanuel, I have posted this conversation as he described it to me; however, historical data may vary.
In August of 2017, I visited Salem, Massachusetts. Knowing I had a past life in Salem during the Witch trials, I had always wanted to pilgrimage to Salem to explore more of my spirit’s past.
I started my visit by booking a tour with Now Age. Unique in its tour offerings (History of Spiritualism, Witches 1962-Today, Ghosts of Buildings Past), I was impressed by their dedication to communicating the true history of Salem. Visiting with my friend, we were lucky enough to get a personal tour by Now Age founder, Melissa.
Along our tour, Melissa took us to the Salem Athenaeum. This philosophical library was founded in 1810 at a time when Salem was considered a hub of culture and learning. Upon touring the grounds, I immediately noticed a male presence and was enchanted by his inviting energy. Melissa mentioned it might be the spirit of Emmanuel Swedenborg. I asked and got a "Yes.”
Prior to the Salem Athenaeum being in this location, the Swedenborgian Church stood on these grounds in 1872. From my research on Emmanuel, he believed in many metaphysical pursuits and championed meditation, life after death, and communication with beings and spirits.
While on tour of Salem this summer, I was grateful to have met Emmanuel. Since then, he has popped into my thoughts regularly. I finally decided I must have a chat with him.
I requested communication with Emmanuel while in meditation, and his presence showed up immediately. As I remembered, his energy was warm and compassionate. He was available for any questions, but I really just wanted to sit and spend time in his presence. He asked if he could take me on a journey and I responded, "YES!”
When in meditation, I work mainly clairvoyantly. I see colors and pictures, thusly interpreting their meanings. Emmanuel started our time together by taking me on a visual journey showing me a myriad of pictures of the cosmos! I was in awe of the expansiveness and ability to stretch my spirit out in this space. Through my work as a Trans Medium (ability to consciously move your spirit in and out of your body), I have done some mystical space traveling, but this was different.
As we continued on, Emmanuel showed me the expansiveness of our spirits as a match to that of the universe and as a match to that of all of humanity, energy, and time. He showed me that we are bound to time and space, but only in our bodies and not in our thinking or experiencing. Day to day, we are all too rigid. We need to take the time to expand into freedom as this is an expression of our spirit’s truth. We may be made up of elements and DNA and atoms, but at the base of all of that is the nucleus of energy. It is the experience of embodying this human form while having a cosmic spirit that makes this existence so special.
Even though much of what Emmanuel was showing me was familiar in thought, Emmanuel’s visual itinerary was completely an esoteric experience. It seemed like I was connecting to this information through my senses as a psychic medium for the first time. The dots were really connecting for me puzzling out how much we are energy beings in a match with the vibration of the universe.
At this point, I asked Emmanuel what he really wanted to say. In essence he said stress is a useless form of experience. When involved in the priorities that create stress, you are missing the whole point of creating. Physics and math are the quantitative experience of this Earthly space. Allow the information they hold to come into your knowledge intuitively. They hold the dimensional answers to your questions of the cosmic experience.
Next, Emmanuel lead me through a specific meditation. Additionally, he wanted me to offer this meditation experience to any reader who felt so compelled to give this a try. So, if you are feeling moved, go for it.
Close your eyes.
Take a moment to get quiet.
Put any thought, ideas, or things to do outside of your space. Let those thoughts know you will get back to them once you have completed this meditation exercise for yourself.
Get comfortable in your body.
Say hello to yourself as a spirt.
Take three deep breaths.
Sit with the intention to bring together your body and spirit.
Relax into this space for a bit.
Now, imagine yourself in space.
Notice the weightlessness you feel.
The floating.
Let the floating blur the lines from the form of your body into space.
Stretch out.
Notice how the energy of your body is a match to the energy of space.
There is no difference.
No difference.
Stretch out further.
Imagine all humans on the planet in this space with you.
Imagine all those humans stretching out as you just did, with the lines of their bodies blurring and matching the energy of space.
This is universal consciousness.
Now, come back to your body.
Experience the spirit in your physical body.
Say hello to your body.
Feel the comfort of your ability to relate to the Earth and the function of time.
Sit in this space for a moment.
Be grateful for this experience and all that it has taught you.
Open your eyes.
As I followed Emmanuel’s lead through this meditation, I stretched out so far that I did feel and connect with the oneness of the universe. It was beautiful and real and validating. I can hurt or be excited for someone I don’t even know who lives across the world from me because of the vibrational match among all in this human experience.
I looked up at Emmanuel and noticed a huge smile on his face.
He really got me good.
He told me this is the love experience.
To unlock potential you have to let go.
Deeply let go.
The only thing really holding us up is this universal energy.
But, as humans, we have taught each other to use the shape of things to form reality when, in truth, these are just subsidies of our imagination.
Finally, Emmanuel told me to just sit in this experience and gain what I can from this journey. With a promising “That is all for now,” he was off.
Emmanuel’s lessons help us overcome the difficult qualities of the human experience and allow our spirits to reconnect with their truth. They are an experiential reminder of how we are all truly connected; they help us find our home in oneness.
